"ADHD affects children and teens and can continue into adulthood. The signs and symptoms of ADHD typically appear before the age of seven. ADHD can be distinguished from normal “kid behaviour” if the kid shows any ADHD sign and symptoms in all situations such as at school, home and other places."

In adults, ADHD is a clinical diagnosis that relies on their recollection of ADHD symptoms as a child to which the DSM-IVTR criteria validated for children are applied. Although there is no single medical, physical, or genetic test for ADHD, a diagnostic evaluation can be provided by a qualified mental health care professional or physician who gathers information from multiple sources."
